BETTER SCHOOLS ACROSS MOUNT DRUITT

Four new co-located public preschools are being delivered at Blackett Public School, Emerton Public School, Hebersham Public School and Shalvey Public School.

These public preschools will help bring down costs for families, improve access to early education and give our kids the best start in life. 

MORE TEACHERS FOR OUR CHILDREN

Because of the former Liberal Government’s unfair wages cap and neglect of public education, teacher vacancies reached an all time high, resulting in 10,000 merged and cancelled classes across NSW every day. 

When the Minns Labor Government was elected one of our priorities was to rebuild our education system. Just in the last three years we’ve: 

• Delivered the largest pay rise in a generation to all of NSW’s public school teachers; 

• Made 444 local teachers and support staff permanent meaning our kids are spending more time learning in class and receiving more one on-one attention from their teachers; and 

• Nearly halved the number of merged and cancelled classes by getting more teachers into the classroom.

There is more to do, and the Minns Labor Government will continue to build more classrooms, hire more teachers and lift student outcomes across Mount Druitt.
